Graduation.... Finally!!

I sincerely apologize for the lack of blogging... it has been an absolutely crazy month between moving, graduating, both of us starting new jobs, and more... but we will get to all that.
On June 22, I graduated from residency. For those of you not emersed in the medical field that means that I could officially go out and be a general pediatrician... if that was my plan, which of course it isn't. The day was what I had warned everyone: anti-climatic. After working 80+ hours/wk and taking more in house call than I care to count, a 5 hour luncheon is hardly the way to celebrate (in my opinion) but that is the tradition. Dad, Lily, Kristen, and Larry decided to brave it anyway and came to support me and entertain Ari. We all endured a mediocre banquet lunch, some corny jokes, and watching 24 residents and multiple fellows be recognized for enduring the last 3 years. It was somewhat more exciting, though, because my friend Tara (on the left) won the residency research award and I actually received an award for be the most outstanding hospitalist senior resident. After the "festivities" and pictures, Dad and Lily went home but Kristen, Larry, Ari, and I went out to Bar Louie with some of my classmates and then out for a late dinner. It is also awesome to get to spend time with my sister, which I am sad to say will happen less often now that we have moved.
